Kent MArch Unit 4 2021

NET ZERO COLLECTIVE
2021

Following on from last year's success in the RIBA Silver Medals, Unit 4 is continuing our sustainability-led design programme, looking at the circular economy, net zero (whole life carbon) and collective enterprise. The teaching draws upon the current pedagogical imperative to embed the RIBA's Sustainable Outcomes 2030 and follows principles outlined in core resources such as the Ellen Macarthur foundation (circular economy) and Kate Raworth's seminal book on sustainable economic theory - Doughnut Economics.

Unit 4 is taught by Matthew Woodthorpe and Ben Corrie from MWAI, alongside Yorgos Loizos. This year's technical programme (Tech 5), led by Professor Henrik Schoenefeldt, introduces research-led reflective practice, environmental modelling, data analysis and material science to our programme. Yeah!!
